CLASSICAL
The MPO brings together two masterpieces shaped by tension, darkness and resilience. Pianist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, one of the finest Beethoven interpreters alive, takes on Beethoven’s dramatic Piano Concerto No. 3 where a compelling opening gives way to lyrical passages followed by a spirited finale. The evening continues with Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 10, a deeply personal work filled with mystery and defiance. Experience music that speaks of resilience and the indomitable human spirit, under the baton of Junichi Hirokami.
