CLASSICAL
Junichi Hirokami brings the season to a magnificent close with Beethoven’s Leonore Overture No. 3 and Vivian Chua's Mercu Kegemilangan, commissioned to mark the MPO's 20th anniversary and revived as we approach our 30th. The monumental Symphony No. 9, the “Choral,” featuring vocal soloists and chorus is the ultimate statement of human brotherhood and joy forming the perfect culmination of the two-week Beethoven focus that began with the Pastoral Symphony. Two hundred years after his demise, Beethoven's 9th Symphony still sounds like the future. A powerful, uplifting and unforgettable season finale.
