Take a musical journey across Europe with Tengku Irfan and the MPO in a vibrant programme filled with passion, wit and grandeur. Bizet’s Carmen Suite opens with the heat of Seville, followed by Rossini’s sparkling Bassoon Concerto, an elegant and witty showcase for MPO's Section Principal Bassoon, Alexandar Lenkov. After the intermission, Stravinsky’s Pulcinella reimagines Baroque music by bringing out its playful, dance-like charm. Wagner’s majestic Prelude to The Mastersingers of Nuremberg closes the concert in grand style, completing this delightful blend of French, Italian, Russian, and German repertoire.
