With a heroic beginning, a melancholic middle and vigorous end, this iconic masterpiece invites you on an endearing journey through the depths of the human soul. Under the baton of conductor Junichi Hirokami, the MPO and pianist Melody Quah will deliver a delicate interplay of the orchestra and piano, weaving a range of emotions with lyrical melodies. Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5 ends the evening on an introspective note.
